But the success she got is after the happening of Hannah Montana. She cleared the audition of Hannah Montana which is a Disney channel show. She was 12 years old when she got this role.

The producers of Disney channel when asked that why they have selected Miley Cyrus for this role they said that due to her energetic and lively performance she was being selected for the role. Miley Cyrus to replace Mariah Carey in 'Today' show

Miley Cyrus has been engaged as the last act in the "Today" show's summer concert series in New York, NBC said.

Scheduled for August. 28, the performance marks Cyrus's 2nd live concert on the morning program.

The Cyrus gig is to substitute Mariah Carey's previously announced "Today" concert, which has been called off. NBC said the called off Carey concert will be announced at a later date. No reason for the postponement has been presented.
